A mini-split pairs an outdoor compressor with one or more indoor air handlers, linked by a compact refrigerant line — the reason it's such a practical fit for rooms where standard ductwork isn't realistic. Before we install anything, our team walks the space to decide whether a single-zone unit or a multi-zone layout makes more sense, since a multi-zone system allows separate rooms to be heated or cooled independently from one shared outdoor unit.
Where the indoor unit is mounted matters just as much as how it's mounted, so we talk through placement with you first — weighing airflow, direct sunlight and how the unit will sit visually in the room. The refrigerant line set then passes through a small, carefully sealed wall opening, insulated to guard against energy loss and unwanted moisture.
Because these are refrigerant-based systems, getting the charge right is non-negotiable — we calibrate it to the manufacturer's specs and the exact line length we've installed, adjusting for longer runs as needed. Before we leave, we run the system through both heating and cooling cycles, confirm the app or remote controls respond correctly, and walk you through simple filter care.
